Gardening is truly in my DNA – one grandfather was a farmer & rancher in Castle Rock, the other was a genius at growing iris, strawberries, and sweet peas here in Littleton, and my dad is a biologist who was a carnation grower early in his career for Park-Elitch Wholesale Florists here in Denver.
I walked away from the corporate real estate world in 2004 without a plan for my next chapter. I decided it looked “fun” to work at a local garden center for the season and that work stuck for 19 years having worked at both Jared’s Nursery and Garden Center, and O’Toole’s Garden Center here in Littleton.
When my husband James and I bought our home in Littleton, I began to turn a yard full of rocks, junipers, and grass into my garden haven. I spend hours in my garden…it’s where I’ve learned what works, what doesn’t and it’s the best place for garden therapy.
I may not be a Master Gardener, but I am the Master of my garden.
